The Cloud Healthcare API provides a non-production environment in select Google Cloud regions. This pre-production environment is intended for testing and validation purposes. Don't use the pre-production environment for production workloads.
Requirements
- To prevent interference with existing Cloud Healthcare API workloads, create a Google Cloud project specifically for pre-production testing.
- When using a Google Cloud project in the pre-production environment, you can only create datasets in the pre-production regions.
Pre-production environment use cases
- Release verification testing: Evaluate new Cloud Healthcare API features and updates before they're released to the production environment. Identify potential impacts to your existing workflows and detect any behavioral regressions.
- Load testing: Conduct load testing with reduced risk of affecting your production environment.
Available pre-production regions and endpoints
The following pre-production regions and corresponding endpoints are available:

Request quota
The pre-production environment is only available in the us multi-region.
Quota increase requests for this environment must be made for the following
individual regions:
us-east4us-central1us-west
