Supported Resource Types

Deployment Manager uses the underlying APIs of each Google Cloud Platform service to deploy your resources. For example, to create Compute Engine virtual machine instances, the Deployment Manager service makes a call to the Compute Engine API on your behalf to create the instance, and then adds it to your deployment.

As such, Deployment Manager is dependent on the APIs that you choose. Most resource types and properties supported by the underlying API are supported by Deployment Manager. Similarly, any limitation of the underlying API is also a limitation on what Deployment Manager can do.

Each API maintains its own documentation and API reference. To determine the properties you can set in Deployment Manager for a particular API, you must use the respective API's documentation as guidance.
