Datastore es una base de datos de documentos NoSQL creada a fin de proporcionar ajuste de escala automático, alto rendimiento y facilidad para el desarrollo de aplicaciones.
En las páginas de esta sección, se describe cómo acceder a Datastore con las APIs de App Engine. Las apps que usan estas APIs solo pueden ejecutarse en App Engine y deberán actualizarse a las API de Google Cloud recomendadas antes de migrar a nuevos entornos de ejecución de App Engine. Las APIs recomendadas para Datastore se encuentran en la biblioteca cliente de Google Cloud y permiten que tu app se ejecute en App Engine y en otros entornos compatibles con Java 8.
Usa Objectify con Datastore
En lugar de usar las API de App Engine o las de Google Cloud, puedes usar Objectify para acceder a Datastore.
Objectify es una API de código abierto para Cloud Datastore que proporciona un nivel de abstracción superior al de las API de App Engine y de Google Cloud. Si bien las apps que usan versiones anteriores de Objectify solo se pueden ejecutar en App Engine, las que usan la versión 6 y versiones posteriores pueden ejecutarse en App Engine y en otros entornos compatibles con Java 8.
Si planeas usar Objectify, se recomienda que uses la versión 6 o una posterior.
