Methods
.configure
def self.configure() { |config| ... } -> Client::Configuration
Configure the SessionController Client class.
See Configuration for a description of the configuration fields.
- (config) — Configure the Client client.
- config (Client::Configuration)
# Modify the configuration for all SessionController clients ::Google::Cloud::Dataproc::V1::SessionController::Client.configure do |config| config.timeout = 10.0 end
#configure
def configure() { |config| ... } -> Client::Configuration
Configure the SessionController Client instance.
The configuration is set to the derived mode, meaning that values can be changed, but structural changes (adding new fields, etc.) are not allowed. Structural changes should be made on Client.configure.
See Configuration for a description of the configuration fields.
- (config) — Configure the Client client.

#create_session
def create_session(request, options = nil) -> ::Gapic::Operation
def create_session(parent: nil, session: nil, session_id: nil, request_id: nil) -> ::Gapic::Operation
Create an interactive session asynchronously.
def create_session(request, options = nil) -> ::Gapic::Operation
create_session
via a request object, either of type
CreateSessionRequest or an equivalent Hash.
- request (::Google::Cloud::Dataproc::V1::CreateSessionRequest, ::Hash) — A request object representing the call parameters. Required. To specify no parameters, or to keep all the default parameter values, pass an empty Hash.
- options (::Gapic::CallOptions, ::Hash) — Overrides the default settings for this call, e.g, timeout, retries, etc. Optional.
def create_session(parent: nil, session: nil, session_id: nil, request_id: nil) -> ::Gapic::Operation
create_session
via keyword arguments. Note that at
least one keyword argument is required. To specify no parameters, or to keep all
the default parameter values, pass an empty Hash as a request object (see above).
- parent (::String) — Required. The parent resource where this session will be created.
- session (::Google::Cloud::Dataproc::V1::Session, ::Hash) — Required. The interactive session to create.
-
session_id (::String) — Required. The ID to use for the session, which becomes the final component
of the session's resource name.
This value must be 4-63 characters. Valid characters are /[a-z][0-9]-/.
-
request_id (::String) — Optional. A unique ID used to identify the request. If the service
receives two
CreateSessionRequestss
with the same ID, the second request is ignored, and the
first Session is created and stored in
the backend.
Recommendation: Set this value to a UUID.
The value must contain only letters (a-z, A-Z), numbers (0-9), underscores (_), and hyphens (-). The maximum length is 40 characters.
- (response, operation) — Access the result along with the RPC operation
- response (::Gapic::Operation)
- operation (::GRPC::ActiveCall::Operation)
- (::Gapic::Operation)
- (::Google::Cloud::Error) — if the RPC is aborted.
Basic example
require "google/cloud/dataproc/v1" # Create a client object. The client can be reused for multiple calls. client = Google::Cloud::Dataproc::V1::SessionController::Client.new # Create a request. To set request fields, pass in keyword arguments. request = Google::Cloud::Dataproc::V1::CreateSessionRequest.new # Call the create_session method. result = client.create_session request # The returned object is of type Gapic::Operation. You can use it to # check the status of an operation, cancel it, or wait for results. # Here is how to wait for a response. result.wait_until_done! timeout: 60 if result.response? p result.response else puts "No response received." end
#delete_session
def delete_session(request, options = nil) -> ::Gapic::Operation
def delete_session(name: nil, request_id: nil) -> ::Gapic::Operation

- (response, operation) — Access the result along with the RPC operation

.Example:
state = ACTIVE and create_time < "2023-01-01T00:00:00Z"
is a filter for sessions in an ACTIVE state that were created before 2023-01-01.See https://google.aip.dev/assets/misc/ebnf-filtering.txt for a detailed description of the filter syntax and a list of supported comparators.
