Google Cloud の管理リージョンとロケーション

GKE on Azure で作成されたクラスタは、Azure リージョンにあります。クラスタを作成するときに、クラスタの Azure リージョンと、それを管理する Google Cloud リージョンの両方を指定します。

各 Google Cloud リージョンでは、周辺にある特定の Azure リージョンに存在する一連のクラスタを管理できます。たとえば、オレゴン州にある Google Cloud リージョン us-east4は、Azure リージョン（オンタリオ州 のcanadacentral、アイオワ州の centralus、バージニア州の eastus、バージニア州の eastus2、テキサス州の southcentralus）のクラスタを管理します。周辺の Google Cloud リージョンでクラスタを管理すると、可用性が向上し、クラスタ管理オペレーションのレイテンシが短縮されます。

GKE on Azure は、クラスタのリソース名にクラスタの Google Cloud リージョンを追加します。たとえば、リージョン us-west1 のプロジェクト my-project に作成した my-cluster という名前のクラスタのリソース名は、projects/my-project/locations/us-west1/azureClusters/my-cluster に設定されます。これに対して、Azure リージョンはクラスタ リソースの一部です。これは、API 呼び出しの azure_region フィールドで指定できます。

データの局所性

クラスタを管理するには、GKE Multi-Cloud API で、クラスタの作成時に指定した Google Cloud リージョン内のクラスタの状態に関する情報を保存する必要があります。このデータには、ワークロード固有のデータ（クラスタのリージョンに保存される）は含まれていませんが、Azure リソース ID や公開鍵基盤（PKI）データなどの情報は含まれています。

アプリケーションで特定の地理的リージョンにデータを保存する必要がある場合は、クラスタの作成時に要件を満たす Azure リージョンとそれに関連する Google Cloud 管理リージョンを指定します。

次の gcloud コマンドを実行すると、Google Cloud リージョンでサポートされている現在の Azure リージョンの最新リストを取得できます。

gcloud container azure get-server-config --location GOOGLE_CLOUD_REGION

GOOGLE_CLOUD_REGION は、クエリする Google Cloud リージョンの名前に置き換えます。
