Google Cloud IoT Core V1 Client - Class DeviceManagerClient (1.6.4)

Reference documentation and code samples for the Google Cloud IoT Core V1 Client class DeviceManagerClient.

Service Description: Internet of Things (IoT) service. Securely connect and manage IoT devices.

This class provides the ability to make remote calls to the backing service through method calls that map to API methods. Sample code to get started:

$deviceManagerClient = new DeviceManagerClient();
try {
    $formattedParent = $deviceManagerClient->registryName('[PROJECT]', '[LOCATION]', '[REGISTRY]');
    $gatewayId = 'gateway_id';
    $deviceId = 'device_id';
    $response = $deviceManagerClient->bindDeviceToGateway($formattedParent, $gatewayId, $deviceId);
} finally {
    $deviceManagerClient->close();
}

Many parameters require resource names to be formatted in a particular way. To assist with these names, this class includes a format method for each type of name, and additionally a parseName method to extract the individual identifiers contained within formatted names that are returned by the API.

This service has a new (beta) implementation. See Google\Cloud\Iot\V1\Client\DeviceManagerClient to use the new surface.

Methods

__construct

Constructor.

Parameters
NameDescription
options array

Optional. Options for configuring the service API wrapper.

↳ apiEndpoint string

The address of the API remote host. May optionally include the port, formatted as "

↳ credentials string|array|FetchAuthTokenInterface|CredentialsWrapper

The credentials to be used by the client to authorize API calls. This option accepts either a path to a credentials file, or a decoded credentials file as a PHP array. Advanced usage: In addition, this option can also accept a pre-constructed Google\Auth\FetchAuthTokenInterface object or Google\ApiCore\CredentialsWrapper object. Note that when one of these objects are provided, any settings in $credentialsConfig will be ignored.

↳ credentialsConfig array

Options used to configure credentials, including auth token caching, for the client. For a full list of supporting configuration options, see Google\ApiCore\CredentialsWrapper::build() .

↳ disableRetries bool

Determines whether or not retries defined by the client configuration should be disabled. Defaults to false.

↳ clientConfig string|array

Client method configuration, including retry settings. This option can be either a path to a JSON file, or a PHP array containing the decoded JSON data. By default this settings points to the default client config file, which is provided in the resources folder.

↳ transport string|TransportInterface

The transport used for executing network requests. May be either the string rest or grpc. Defaults to grpc if gRPC support is detected on the system. Advanced usage: Additionally, it is possible to pass in an already instantiated Google\ApiCore\Transport\TransportInterface object. Note that when this object is provided, any settings in $transportConfig, and any $apiEndpoint setting, will be ignored.

↳ transportConfig array

Configuration options that will be used to construct the transport. Options for each supported transport type should be passed in a key for that transport. For example: $transportConfig = [ 'grpc' => [...], 'rest' => [...], ]; See the Google\ApiCore\Transport\GrpcTransport::build() and Google\ApiCore\Transport\RestTransport::build() methods for the supported options.

↳ clientCertSource callable

A callable which returns the client cert as a string. This can be used to provide a certificate and private key to the transport layer for mTLS.

bindDeviceToGateway

Associates the device with the gateway.

Parameters
NameDescription
parent string

Required. The name of the registry. For example, projects/example-project/locations/us-central1/registries/my-registry.

gatewayId string

Required. The value of gateway_id can be either the device numeric ID or the user-defined device identifier.

deviceId string

Required. The device to associate with the specified gateway. The value of device_id can be either the device numeric ID or the user-defined device identifier.

optionalArgs array

Optional.

↳ retrySettings RetrySettings|array

Retry settings to use for this call. Can be a Google\ApiCore\RetrySettings object, or an associative array of retry settings parameters. See the documentation on Google\ApiCore\RetrySettings for example usage.

↳ versionToUpdate int

The version number to update. If this value is zero, it will not check the version number of the server and will always update the current version; otherwise, this update will fail if the version number found on the server does not match this version number. This is used to support multiple simultaneous updates without losing data.

sendCommandToDevice

Sends a command to the specified device. In order for a device to be able to receive commands, it must: 1) be connected to Cloud IoT Core using the MQTT protocol, and 2) be subscribed to the group of MQTT topics specified by /devices/{device-id}/commands/#. This subscription will receive commands at the top-level topic /devices/{device-id}/commands as well as commands for subfolders, like /devices/{device-id}/commands/subfolder.

Note that subscribing to specific subfolders is not supported. If the command could not be delivered to the device, this method will return an error; in particular, if the device is not subscribed, this method will return FAILED_PRECONDITION. Otherwise, this method will return OK. If the subscription is QoS 1, at least once delivery will be guaranteed; for QoS 0, no acknowledgment will be expected from the device.

Parameters
NameDescription
name string

Required. The name of the device. For example, projects/p0/locations/us-central1/registries/registry0/devices/device0 or projects/p0/locations/us-central1/registries/registry0/devices/{num_id}.

binaryData string

Required. The command data to send to the device.

optionalArgs array

Optional.

↳ subfolder string

Optional subfolder for the command. If empty, the command will be delivered to the /devices/{device-id}/commands topic, otherwise it will be delivered to the /devices/{device-id}/commands/{subfolder} topic. Multi-level subfolders are allowed. This field must not have more than 256 characters, and must not contain any MQTT wildcards ("+" or "#") or null characters.
