Logging

This page explains how to access Google Cloud VPN logs.

Google Cloud VPN logs are stored in Stackdriver Logging. Logging is automatic and does not need to be enabled.

How to view logs

Console

To view logs for your tunnel from the Cloud Platform Console, do the following:

  1. Go to the Logs page in the Google Cloud Platform Console.
    Go to the Logs page.
    • To see all VPN logs, in the first pull-down menu select Compute Engine > targetVPNGateway.
    • To see logs for just one gateway, select a single gateway name from the list.

gcloud

To get a direct URL from the gcloud command-line tool, do the following:

  1. Determine the name of your tunnel:

gcloud compute --project PROJECT_ID vpn-tunnels list
            --region us-central1

  2. Get details on your tunnel:

    gcloud compute --project PROJECT_ID vpn-tunnels describe tunnel1 \
            --region us-central1

  3. From the following line in your output, copy the URL into your browser:

detailedStatus: 'Tunnel is up and running. More info: https://console.developers.google.com/project/...
