What is Service Usage?

Service Usage is an infrastructure service of Google Cloud Platform that lets you list and manage other APIs and services in your GCP projects. You can list and manage GCP services and their APIs, as well as services created using Cloud Endpoints.

Why use Service Usage?

You can use Service Usage to perform the following tasks in your GCP projects:

  • List enabled APIs and services.
  • Enable or disable APIs and services.

Before you can use most GCP services, you must first enable them in a GCP project. To learn how to list available and enabled services in your GCP projects, see Listing Services. You can learn how to enable and disable services in Enabling and Disabling Services.

You can use Service Usage via GCP Console, from the gcloud command line tool, or programmatically using the Service Usage API from one of the Google APIs Client Libraries.
