Anatomy of an approval request

This page describes what information is contained in an Access Approval access requests.

Request fields

An Access Approval request consists of the following fields. For more details, see the ApprovalRequest reference.

Field Description
resource The location of the resource that access is being requested for. Access may be requested at the level of a resource or at the level of a specific project. Note that approving access for a given resource will also grant access to any child resources underneath. For example, if an approval is made for projects/123456/buckets/bucket-123, a request for projects/123456/buckets/bucket-123/objects/file-1 will also be allowed.
Request Time The time the request to access was sent to you.
Access Expires How long the Google administrator will have access to the resource for if you approve access.
Office Location Access will only be allowed if the accessor has a permanent desk in this location. Location is one of an ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code, a 3-character continent identifier, or "ANY" to indicate any location is allowed.
Physical Location Access will only be allowed if the accessor is physically located in this location. Location is one of an ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code, a 3-character continent identifier, or "ANY" to indicate any location is allowed.
Reason The reason for the access. See Accesss Transparency Justification codes.
Status The status of the request. Only when the request is Approved is access granted (unless emergency bypass is used as described in the Overview).
