This page shows you how to get support for Google Kubernetes Engine.
Get a Google support package
Google Cloud offers different support packages to meet different needs, such as 24/7 coverage, phone support, and access to a technical support manager. For more information, see Cloud Customer Care.
Recommendations for efficient support
You can get the best support by following these recommendations:
Enable Cloud Logging and Cloud Monitoring. To learn more, see Configure logging and monitoring for GKE. Logging and monitoring data can make it much easier for the support team to identify issues. If you don't have this information, you might need to take additional steps. For example, to provide the same information found in the logs, you might need to access the GKE nodes directly and transfer an archive file.
When opening a support case, be as specific as possible about your issue, and include at least the following information:
- Name of the cluster
- Timestamp or a time range of when you noticed the issue, including the timezone
- As many details as possible about what you see and how you noticed the problem
Get support from the community
Use the following resources to get support from the Google Kubernetes Engine and Kubernetes community.
Ask a question on Stack Overflow
Ask a question about Kubernetes or GKE on Stack Overflow.
For questions about GKE, use the
google-kubernetes-engine
tag. This tag not only receives responses from the
Stack Overflow community, but also from Google engineers, who monitor the tag
and offer unofficial support. Review the
most-asked questions before
posting a new one.
Discuss GKE
Join the kubernetes-users Google group to discuss GKE and receive GKE announcements and updates.
You can also take the following actions to engage with the GKE community:
Visit the Google Cloud Slack community to discuss GKE and other Google Cloud products. If you haven't already joined, use this form to sign up. For GKE, join the
#kubernetes-engine
channel.Interact with the Kubernetes team and other Kubernetes users on Kubernetes Slack channel.
Learn about Kubernetes special-interest groups and events in the Kubernetes community.
File bugs or feature requests
You can submit a product or documentation issue by using one of the following procedures:
GKE issues and feature requests: You can check for existing issues or open new issues in the public issue trackers. Before filing a new issue, search the existing issues to avoid duplicates.
If you open a new issue, include the following information:
- Kubernetes version and
kubectl
version - Cloud provider, operating system, network configuration, and Docker version
- Steps to reproduce the problem
- Kubernetes version and
Open-source Kubernetes issues or feature requests: If you encounter a bug or want to request a feature for Kubernetes, file an issue on GitHub.
Documentation issues: From the GKE documentation, click Send feedback > Documentation feedback. This button opens a feedback form. The Google Kubernetes Engine documentation team reviews the comments that you submit.
Shared responsibility model
Running a business-critical production application on GKE requires multiple parties to carry different responsibilities. These responsibilities are described at GKE Enterprise shared responsibility.
