Using pre-release features

You can try pre-release features, provide valuable feedback, and ask Cloud Code for VS Code developers and other users questions by installing pre-release builds and joining the Cloud Code Insiders group.

Pre-release builds can include bug fixes and features still in development that can be removed in a future release. Pre-release features are listed on this page and on the welcome page in your IDE.

Insiders builds are released weekly.

Available pre-release features

The following features are available in the Insider build:

Apigee local development and archive deployment

This release enables you to integrate API platform management with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) that you use to develop, test, and deploy applications.

During local development, use Apigee in VS Code to develop your API proxies and verify the functionality through unit and manual testing against the Apigee Emulator (local runtime). During archive deployment, deploy to Apigee X for integration testing and release, leveraging an archive that contains the complete environment and API proxy configuration.

For more information, see Overview of local development using Apigee.

Skaffold modules

This release allows you to develop and debug parts of your application independently by defining Skaffold modules, which are named configurations, and dependencies among the modules. You can define modules and their dependencies in a single skaffold.yaml file or multiple skaffold.yaml files.

For more information, see Skaffold modules.
