Google provides a collection of application templates that are built with best practices in mind. You can explore Google templates, and use them as a starting point for your own application development.

Before you begin

You must have one of the following roles on the app-enabled folder or management project:

• Application Design Center Admin (roles/designcenter.admin): Create and customize a template and application.
• Application Design Center User (roles/designcenter.user): Create and customize a template.
• Application Design Center Viewer (roles/designcenter.viewer): Preview a template.
• The following roles can interact with applications based on Google templates:
  • Application Admin (roles/designcenter.applicationAdmin): Create and deploy an application.
  • Application Editor (roles/designcenter.applicationEditor): Create and deploy an application.
  • Application Viewer (roles/designcenter.applicationViewer): View an application.

Preview and customize Google templates

1. From the left menu, click Google templates.

   Go to Google templates

2. Click Preview to view the design canvas for a Google template.

3. To use this template as a starting point for your own template, do the following:

   1. Click Copy and Customize.

   2. For steps to configure and design the template, see Design application templates.

4. Alternatively, to create an application using the Google template, do the following:

   1. Click Configure app.

   2. Click Create new application.

   3. For steps to create an application, see Manage applications.

   4. For links to configuration documentation for each component, see Supported resources.
