O serviço Backup para GKE é ativado automaticamente em qualquer projeto em que a
API GKE esteja ativada. Isso permite melhorar a postura de proteção de dados dos clusters do GKE usando o serviço Backup para GKE.
Ativar a API Backup para GKE não modifica as configurações de cluster do GKE
nem afeta as cargas de trabalho em execução. Além disso, ela não
cria backups automaticamente ou incorrer em custos adicionais. Os custos só são incorridos
quando você cria e armazena backups usando o serviço Backup para GKE.
Se você tiver desativado manualmente o serviço de
Backup para GKE, poderá ativar o serviço de backup para GKE usando a
CLI do Google Cloud, o console do Google Cloud ou o Terraform.

Also, it doesn't\nautomatically create backups or incur additional costs.
