For more information about Google's edge locations, see\n[Google's peering site](https://peering.google.com/#/infrastructure).\n\nWhen established, Direct Peering provides a direct path from your on-premises\nnetwork to Google services, including Google Cloud products that\ncan be exposed through one or more public IP addresses. Traffic from Google's\nnetwork to your on-premises network also takes that direct path, including\ntraffic from VPC networks in your projects.\n\nDirect Peering exists outside of Google Cloud. Unless you need to access\nGoogle Workspace applications, the recommended methods of access to Google Cloud are\n[Dedicated Interconnect](/network-connectivity/docs/interconnect/concepts/dedicated-overview)\nor [Partner Interconnect](/network-connectivity/docs/interconnect/concepts/partner-overview).\n\nFor a description of the differences between Direct Peering and\nCloud Interconnect, see the\n[comparison table](/network-connectivity/docs/how-to/choose-product#dp-compare).\n\nConsiderations\n--------------\n\nIf used with Google Cloud, Direct Peering doesn't produce\nany custom routes in a VPC network. Traffic sent from\nresources in a VPC network leaves by way of a route whose next\nhop is either a *default internet gateway* (a default route, for example) or a\nCloud VPN tunnel.\n\nTo send traffic through Direct Peering by using a route whose next hop is a\nCloud VPN tunnel, the IP address of your on-premises network's VPN\ngateway must be in your configured destination range.\n\nService level\n-------------\n\nGoogle does not offer a service level agreement (SLA) with Direct Peering.\nFor customers who are interested in an SLA, we recommend using\n[Cloud Interconnect](/network-connectivity/docs/interconnect).\n\nWho can peer with Google?\n-------------------------\n\nGoogle recommends Google Cloud customers to use a Verified Peering Provider\ninstead of Direct Peering.\n\nConnecting with a Verified Peering Provider lets Google customers reach all publicly\navailable Google resources without the complexity of managing\nDirect Peering connectivity to Google.\n\nGoogle Cloud customers that choose a Verified Peering Provider do not need to meet\nGoogle's Direct Peering requirements and can work directly with a\nVerified Peering Provider to acquire internet services that provide access to Google.\n\nTo view a list of available Verified Peering Providers, see their connectivity to\nGoogle, learn about their services, and find providers in different\nareas, see the [Google Edge Network](https://peering.google.com/#/options/verified-peering-provider).\n\nGoogle recommends Google Cloud customers who do not use a\nVerified Peering Provider to privately peer with Google. Private peering lets a\nnetwork connect directly with Google over a dedicated physical link known\nas a private network interconnect (PNI).\n\nWhen privately peering, Google requires physical redundancy with at least two\nseparate connections to Google in a single metropolitan area. Each physical\nconnection must have its own IP addressing.\n\nAny Google Cloud customers that meet Google's technical peering\nrequirements can be considered for Direct Peering. Google can peer at\nlocations listed in our [PeeringDB entry](https://www.peeringdb.com/asn/15169).\n\nFor more information about requirements, and to review Google's peering best\npractices for Google Cloud customers,\nvisit [Google peering](https://peering.google.com/#/options/peering).\n\nGetting started\n---------------\n\nTo request that a new peering connection be established,\n[register your interest](https://peering.google.com/#/options/peering)\nwith our peering team. If you meet the posted technical requirements,\na Google representative will contact you with further details to guide you\nthrough the application process."]]
