Opting\nin to or out of notification types only affects new notifications of that type.\nIf you opt out of a notification type, existing notifications of that type that\nyou have previously received won't be deleted.\n\nBefore you begin\n----------------\n\n\nTo get the permissions that\nyou need to view or update Advisory Notifications settings,\n\nask your administrator to grant you the\n\n\n[Advisory Notifications Admin](/iam/docs/roles-permissions/advisorynotifications#advisorynotifications.admin) (`roles/advisorynotifications.admin`)\nIAM role on your project or organization.\n\n\nFor more information about granting roles, see [Manage access to projects, folders, and organizations](/iam/docs/granting-changing-revoking-access).\n\n\nThis predefined role contains\n\nthe permissions required to view or update Advisory Notifications settings. To see the exact permissions that are\nrequired, expand the **Required permissions** section:\n\n\n#### Required permissions\n\nThe following permissions are required to view or update Advisory Notifications settings:\n\n- ` advisorynotifications.notifications.list `\n- ` advisorynotifications.settings.get `\n- ` advisorynotifications.settings.update`\n- If you are configuring notifications for an organization: ` resourcemanager.organizations.get`\n- If you are configuring notifications for a project: ` resourcemanager.projects.get`\n\n\nYou might also be able to get\nthese permissions\nwith [custom roles](/iam/docs/creating-custom-roles) or\nother [predefined roles](/iam/docs/roles-overview#predefined).\n\nOpt in to or out of notifications\n---------------------------------\n\n1. In the Google Cloud console, go to **Advisory Notifications**.\n\n\n [Go to Advisory Notifications](https://console.cloud.google.com/security/advisorynotifications)\n\n \u003cbr /\u003e\n\n2. Click **Settings** in the corner of the panel.\n\n3. Toggle the notification types you want to receive to **Opt in** , and those\n you do not want to receive to **Opt out** . You cannot opt out of\n [mandatory notification types](#mandatory_notification_types).\n\n4. Click **Save changes**.\n\n5.
