After you create a job, you can't change its region.\n\n### Job templates\n\nOptionally, when you create a job, you can specify a job template to populate\nthe configuration settings for the job. The Transcoder API provides\npreset job templates in all regions where the API is available. You can\nalso create user-defined job templates for each region where the\nTranscoder API is available.\n\nTo specify a user-defined job template for a job in a region, make sure the\ntemplate is available in that region. To verify the existence of a template in a\nregion, you can list all the templates in a region or send a request to get the\ndetails of a specific template.\n\n### Media assets\n\nTo submit media assets for a transcoding job, you first upload them to\nCloud Storage. After a job completes, the Transcoder API saves the\nresults back to Cloud Storage. When choosing a region for your jobs and\nmedia assets, consider doing the following:\n\n- When importing data to Cloud Storage, co-locate the bucket for your media assets and your external data source.\n- Co-locate your source media assets in Cloud Storage with the region of Transcoder API jobs.\n- When choosing the output destination for a job, co-locate your output media assets in Cloud Storage and your external clients."]]
