There are two types of staging disk formats:\n\n- **Block**: Block-based staging disks are useful for backup and recovery, as\n well as test data management usage.\n\n - Backup and DR change-block tracking (CBT) is\n only available on block-based staging disks.\n\n - Virtual databases can only be mounted to block-based staging disks.\n\n - Block-based staging disks can be used for both volume level and\n Full+Incremental file-based backups.\n\n- **NFS**: NFS-based staging disks permit only file-based backup\n with Full+Incremental file system backup.\n\n - Select **NFS** only if **Block** isn't an option in your network.\n\nConfigure staging disk format\n-----------------------------\n\n1.
