Progress and updates on our partnership with Salesforce
Kevin Ichhpurani
President, Global Partner Organization, Google Cloud
Last year, we announced our strategic partnership with Salesforce to help our customers turn marketing, service and sales data into actionable insights and better business outcomes. Since then, we’ve been spending time with our joint customers and working alongside Salesforce to build solutions that connect Salesforce CRM with Google Cloud.
Today, we want to share more on our progress, as well as share the latest around our integrations. These integrations are centered around enhancing productivity, driving intelligent customer experiences, and deepening your customer insights. Here’s a little more on what these integrations can do:
More ways to integrate Salesforce and Google Sheets
We launched the beta version of the Data Connector for Salesforce at Next ‘18, and today this add-on in Google Sheets is generally available. With this add-on, you can import data and reports from Salesforce into Sheets and send updates made in Sheets back to Salesforce. For example, your finance team can use the Data Connector to create an in-depth forecast on current deals in pipeline by pulling relevant data from Salesforce reports into Sheets, and analyzing the data with powerful Sheets features like Explore or intelligent pivot tables. Sales teams can also use the Data Connector to import account details from Salesforce, make relevant updates and bulk update the data back into Salesforce using Sheets.
Additionally, Salesforce recently announced the new Lightning Object Creator which lets customers quickly create custom objects based on their data in Sheets so that they can have a holistic view of their Sheets and CRM data in Salesforce.
Lastly, Salesforce is also announcing Google Sheets for Salesforce, a pilot feature that allows you to connect your Salesforce List Views to Sheets inside the Salesforce platform. Look for more updates on this new feature in the coming months.
Expanded integration with Salesforce IoT
We’re partnering with Salesforce to make it easier for customers to uncover insights from IoT device data. Customers can connect IoT platforms like Cloud IoT to Salesforce IoT Explorer Edition, offering a low-code way to collect data and trigger actions with real-time rules, like filing support tickets, to better service their customers. Cloud IoT is also making its solutions available on the Salesforce AppExchange to help more businesses on their IoT journeys. To learn more about Salesforce IoT, read their blog.
Improved integration with Salesforce Sales Cloud and Google Analytics 360
We’ve simplified the process to connect your Salesforce Sales Cloud and Google Analytics 360 accounts. You can now share even more of your insights from Sales Cloud to Analytics 360, including Salesforce’s Einstein Lead Scoring, e-commerce product data, and much more. This enables marketers to quickly bring their offline data from Sales Cloud into Analytics 360 for deeper insights, more accurate audience segmentation and better business outcomes.
