Verify your identity

At some point in your usage of Google Cloud Marketplace, Google might ask you to verify your identity by submitting information or documents.

When Google asks you to verify your identity, you get an email from Google Cloud with the subject line "You need to verify your identity." You also see a banner across the Google Cloud console that reminds you that you must verify your identity.

After Google's asked you to verify your identity, you must complete your identity verification within 30 days to continue transacting through Cloud Marketplace. Because the identity verification process can take a few days, we recommend that you begin verifying your identity as soon as you can after you've received the email request.

Provide the requested information

After you've received the email from Google Cloud asking you to verify your identity, complete the following steps:

  1. From the email request, click the Verify now button. This takes you to a form where you can add the information or documents for your Payments profile that Google is asking for.

  2. In the form, add the information or documents that Google is asking for, and submit the form. After you've submitted the form, it can take a few days for Google to finish verifying your identity.

If it's been less than 30 days since you got the email asking you to verify your identity, you can continue to purchase and deploy products from Cloud Marketplace while Google verifies your identity.

  3. If you get another email from Google Cloud, asking for more information or documents, follow the instructions in that email to add the additional information.

After Google has finished verifying your identity, you get an email telling you that the process completed successfully.

Add a new user for identity verification

In some cases, the email from Google asking you to verify your identity might be sent to the wrong person for an organization. For example, this can happen if there is a change in who administers Cloud Marketplace for your organization, or if a previous administrator for your organization has left. In these situations, you can request to add a new user to your organization's Payments profile, to verify their identity instead.

To add a new user to your organization's Payments profile for identity verification, create a support case. When you create your support case, you should mention in your request that you want to add a new user to your Payments profile to complete identity verification.
