Today’s online shoppers want to be able to find the product they are looking for, fast—check out seamlessly and receive their merchandise in a matter of days. In order to keep pace with this consumer expectation, ecommerce retailers need a reliable, secure infrastructure that can scale to the seasonal demands of the retail business. For many merchants, they rely on the expertise of a hosted ecommerce platform like BigCommerce.
BigCommerce powers ecommerce websites for successful retailers all over the world, and today, they are sharing that they’re successfully modernizing their hosting infrastructure using Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In just three months, BigCommerce moved the majority of its customer base of more than 60,000 merchants to GCP, enabling faster response times and enhanced security. Since completing the bulk of the migration in late December, BigCommerce merchants have seen, on average, an 81% improvement in connection times, which are now below 10 milliseconds.
“BigCommerce has processed more than $21 billion in sales and now supports merchants in more than 120 countries around the world. As our merchants continue to grow on the platform, we take pride in delivering world-class performance and a scalable hosting solution that works as hard as they do,” said Brian Dhatt, CTO for BigCommerce. “Throughout our sustained growth, BigCommerce has always provided merchants a secure platform with near-perfect uptime and industry-leading performance. The decision to move to Google Cloud further extends our commitment to reliability and scalability, backed by Google Cloud’s reputation in security, performance and innovation.”
We are thrilled to be collaborating with BigCommerce to offer a faster and more reliable connection between merchants and their customers.
