We’re celebrating the 10th birthday of Chrome this month, and you might have already seen some of the different ways we’re sharing our excitement. (Check out the dino game’s birthday garb!) With a streamlined design, smarter search bar, and other enhancements, Chrome Browser has become a trusted and reliable place to get things done—and this is just as true for everyday users as it is for businesses.

Thanks to the ever-growing landscape of SaaS and web-based enterprise apps, cloud workers increasingly rely on their web browser to get their jobs done. In fact, Forrester estimates that cloud workers spend upwards of 4.6 hours a day in their browsers—making Chrome an essential tool for many business users.

But this change didn’t happen overnight. When enterprises first began to deploy Chrome, workers used it primarily to browse the web as needed. But as desktop virtualization technologies and the adoption of cloud services steadily grew, Chrome became an increasingly important tool for enabling remote workers and connecting people to their business apps. And as smart phone use became more pervasive, the need for access to critical business apps and data across devices became the new normal. Chrome has continuously adapted to meet these needs.

Enterprise technology continues to evolve rapidly, and we remain deeply committed to helping IT teams navigate those changes. With enhanced features to ease your deployment of Chrome across your fleet of devices to policy templates and a growing set documentation, Chrome Browser helps IT teams securely connect users to the cloud and the web apps they need to be productive, all while helping keep businesses safe.

Take a look at this timeline which highlights some of the milestones for Chrome in the enterprise since 2008.

As we look forward to what’s ahead, we’re excited to continue to bring IT admins the enterprise management capabilities they need for today’s security landscape and end user demands. Roughly every six weeks, we make new functionality available that benefits users and IT, and we highlight those enhancements in our release notes. To stay in the know, sign up to receive new release details as they become available.

Happy birthday, Chrome!
