Activity management

Google tracks activities that can affect the functioning of your private cloud environment. The activity logs summarize all current activity and are a place for you to monitor and explore VMware Engine activity.

Activities include alerts, events, tasks, and audit logging.


Alerts are notifications of any significant activity in your VMware Engine environment. Events that impact billing or user access are shown as alerts. You can acknowledge alerts from the VMware Engine portal.


Events are occurrences of user and system activity on the Google Cloud VMware Engine portal. Events show the activity associated with a specific resource and the severity of the impact.


Tasks track asynchronous user operations. You can monitor the progress of a task from the VMware Engine portal. For completed tasks, the information includes the total time for completion.

Audit logs

Audit logs keep track of user operations and contain the parameters that a user provides for the operation. You can use audit logs to monitor user activity for all users.
