You can use Google Cloud console to create, copy, and restore backups as well as monitor backup and restore operations.
You can select Backup/Restore from the left pane on the Instance Overview page to see all backups and operations in the instance, including backups of deleted databases.
When you select Backup/Restore from the Database Overview page, you can only see backups of that particular database.
Create a backup
Go to the Instances page in the Google Cloud console.
Click on the instance that contains your desired backups or databases.
Click the Backup/Restore menu item in the left pane.
In the Backups table, click the Create button.
Fill out the form and click the Create button.
To check the progress of the operation, in the Spanner navigation menu, click the Operations tab. The Operations page shows a list of currently running operations.
Find the Creating backup database-name operation in the list. If it's still running, a progress indicator in the End time column shows the percentage of the operation that is complete, as shown in the following image:

Copy a backup
Click the Backup/Restore menu item in the left pane.
In the Backups table, select your desired backup and click the Copy button.
Fill out the form by choosing a destination instance, providing a name, and selecting an expiration date for the backup copy.
Click the Copy button.

Restore a database from a backup
Click the Backup/Restore menu item in the left pane.
In the Backups table, select your desired backup and click the Restore button.
Fill out the form and click the Restore button.
