Google Maps Services Summary

This Services Summary describes the Google Maps APIs Premium plan services made available to Customer and is subject to the parties' Google Maps Master Agreement and Google Maps APIs Premium Plan Service Addendum (collectively, the "Agreement"), including Google's deprecation policy referenced in the Agreement.

Services Overview

Use of new functionality and features included in the Services may be subject to additional service specific terms.

1. Maps development kits ("Maps API"). map rendering toolkits that display Google Maps.
Features include:

  • Display road and satellite imagery
  • Overlay markers, polylines, and polygons on the map
  • Display Street View imagery
  • Change the look and feel of the map
  • Convenience functions to access certain Web Services APIs
  • Native toolkits for web, Android, and iOS applications

2. Map image services ("Static Maps API", "Street View Image API"). HTTP interface to maps image files.
Features include:

  • Display road and satellite imagery
  • Overlay markers and polylines
  • Display Street View imagery
  • Change the look and feel of the map

3. Local data services ("Places API"). access to Google's database of local places.
Features include:

  • Search for and receive detailed information about a place
  • Place picker UI element
  • Submit a place for proposed inclusion into Google's local database
  • Native toolkits for web, Android, and iOS applications

4. Geographic data services ("Web Services"). HTTP interfaces to services providing geographic data.
Features include:

  • Convert addresses into geographic coordinates and vice versa
  • Calculate directions between locations
  • Origin-destination matrices for time and distance
  • Time offset and elevation data for geographic coordinates
  • Map geographic coordinates to road networks
  • Location based on cell tower and wifi node information
