Restrictions and limitations
- Locations
Zone separation is available for a subset of regions.
Google Cloud does not make specific commitments about the physical distance separating zones. For information about the selection criteria for physical data infrastructure, see Location failure resiliency.
- Services
Zone separation is available for a subset of services, and the behavior might vary from service to service.
Not all global services offer resiliency against campus-level failures.
For some services, resources created before enabling zone separation are not guaranteed to have zone separation. You are responsible for migrating existing resources that are not zone separated so that they are zone separated.
Performance of some resources might change as you modify organization policy constraints on the resource hierarchy.
Pricing
All Google Cloud resources and SKUs enabled with the
gcp.requiresPhysicalZoneSeparation constraint are billed at their current
regional or zonal pricing structure.
Resiliency
Service availability SLAs and RPO/RTO performance are identical for zonal and regional resources whether or not they satisfy zone separation.
