GKE release schedule

This page provides estimated availability dates for each new minor version in each release channel. Additionally for static versions (no-channel), expected maintenance and end of life dates are provided for each minor version.

Notes

  1. Rapid: Kubernetes minor version is available and supported in the Rapid release channel for new cluster creations.

  2. Regular: Kubernetes minor version is available and supported in the Regular release channel for new cluster creations.

  3. Stable: Kubernetes minor version is available and supported in the Stable release channel for new cluster creations.

  4. Static: Kubernetes minor version is available and supported in the static version (no channel) for new cluster creations.

  5. Start of maintenance: Version becomes unavailable for creating new node pools. Critical security patches may be still applied on existing resources running this version.

  6. End of life: No new features, security patches, or bug fixes will be made available.

  7. Support window extended for existing legacy Logging and Monitoring users.

  8. Kubernetes open source 1.16 removed long-deprecated APIs.
