Unable to add website due to missing record A

Problem

When trying to add a website, you receive the following error message:

Please make sure to have either an A record pointing to [IP Address] or a CNAME record pointing to [Domain name] for in domain ()

Environment

• Google Domains

Solution

You need to add an A record.

1. Open Google Domains and sign in with the Google account you used to buy your domain.
2. In the left column, select DNS.
3. Scroll to Custom records and click Manage records.
4. Click Create new record.
5. Now attempt to add your website.

Cause

Your A record is missing.
