Recently Announced: Google Cloud Working with Intel and SAP on Intel Optane DC Persistent Memory for SAP HANA

Google Cloud recently announced a partnership with Intel and SAP to offer GCP virtual machines supporting the upcoming Intel® Optane™ DC Persistent Memory for SAP HANA workloads. These GCP VMs will be powered by the future Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors (code-named Cascade Lake) thereby expanding VM resource sizing and providing cost benefits for customers. Enhance the Performance & Scaling of Intel Skylake Processors on GCP with Intel Performance Libraries & Intel Distribution for Python

The Intel Distribution for Python and Intel Performance Libraries are now freely available for Compute Engine on GCP. The Python distribution supports both python2 and python3 and includes highly optimized popular libraries NumPy, SciPy and scikit-learn. The performance libraries integrate key communication and computation kernels that have been tuned and optimized for this latest Intel processor family, in terms of both sequential pipeline flow and parallel execution, but are also useful across all Intel Xeon processor families in GCP. They are of particular interest for applications that can use them to fully exploit the scale of 96 vCPU instances on Skylake-based servers.
