Google Cloud Hybrid Connectivity

Connect your infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) on your terms, from anywhere.

Get the most out of your cloud

The cloud is an incredible resource, but you can’t get the most out of it if you can’t interact with it efficiently. Whether it’s a dedicated, high-performance private connection, a peering option, or something in between, Google Cloud Platform has a solution that fits your specific needs.

Hybrid connectivity products

Cloud Interconnect

Enterprise-grade connections to your Google VPC backed by industry-leading SLAs. Choose a 10 Gbps pipe directly to a Google location with Dedicated Interconnect, or flexible bandwidth options (50 Mbps - 10 Gbps) with Partner Interconnect.

Cloud VPN

Connect your on-premises or other public cloud networks to GCP Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) securely over the internet through IPSec VPN at a low cost for your data bandwidth needs up to 3.0 Gbps.

Peering

Access Google and Google Cloud features over VPN or the internet, while cutting egress fees. If you can meet Google’s requirements, connect directly with Direct Peering, or choose a partner with Carrier Peering.

Hybrid connectivity benefits

Connections for every workload

Every company is different; that’s obvious. In reality, every workload is different. No matter your situation, your company size, your budget, or your specific cloud needs, GCP has a way for you to leverage the cloud in the way that works best for you. From high-performance options such as Dedicated Interconnect and Partner Interconnect, to Cloud VPN for lower volume needs, and even direct and carrier peering options, we have a solution for connecting your infrastructure to the cloud that fits your needs.

Private options for everyone

If you need a private connection to extend your on-premises environment to GCP, Cloud Interconnect makes it easy. Dedicated Interconnect delivers enterprise-grade performance and throughput, with high availability backed by some of the best SLAs in the industry. Can’t meet us at one of our locations? Don’t need quite so much bandwidth? Simply want to work with a partner to help you navigate your connection needs? With Partner Interconnect, one of our many partners provides the enterprise-grade connection between your on-premises environment and GCP with the bandwidth and other features you choose, even SLAs.

Always on, always up

One thing every customer needs when transitioning mission-critical workloads to the cloud is the assurance that your resources will be available when you need them — connections that are reliable and durable. Guaranteed uptime isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s a critical business concern. Dedicated Interconnect offers some of the best SLAs in the industry, with guaranteed uptime of 99.99%. If you can’t meet us at one of our Dedicated Interconnect locations, you can work with your partner of choice to get SLA-guaranteed uptime through Partner Interconnect.

Access Google cloud services “on-net”

Partner Interconnect can also deliver something else: direct access to Google services — including Cloud Storage and BigQuery — through Private Google Access for on-premises (beta). This combination broadens the number of services and APIs privately available in Google Cloud, letting you get “on-net” access to more Google cloud services and maximize the value of your investments.

Hybrid made easy

Today’s business climate demands flexibility. Connecting your on-premises resources to your cloud resources seamlessly, with minimum latency or interruption, is a business-critical requirement. The speed and reliability of Cloud Interconnect lets you extend your organization’s data center network into Google Cloud, simply and easily, while options such as Cloud VPN provide flexibility for all your workloads. This unlocks the potential of hybrid app development and all the benefits the cloud has to offer.

Do business on a global scale

If your business does business worldwide, getting the most out of the cloud is often a difficult proposition. With Cloud Interconnect’s global routing capabilities, you get connectivity to any region, around the globe, from one connection with our base offering — no premium add-ons, no difficult implementation, no hassle.

Google Cloud meets us at a convenient location to give us a dedicated on-ramp to Google Cloud Platform. Their SLA guarantees give us a reliable connection we can depend on for our critical cross-cloud traffic.

Features

Uptime, guaranteed

If your cloud connection is down, your business is down. Dedicated Interconnect’s end-to-end SLAs of 99.99% uptime ensure you’re always up, and many Partner Interconnect providers deliver SLA options that meet these stringent requirements.

Fewer disruptions and drops

Whether you use Dedicated or Partner Interconnect, you get a predictable, high-end user experience. Traffic between your on-premises and VPC networks doesn't touch the public internet. This means fewer hops and fewer potential points of failure where it can be disrupted or dropped.

Connect from anywhere

Is your data center in a location that can’t reach a Google colocation facility? No worries. With Partner Interconnect, a supported partner can meet you where you are and bring Google Cloud directly to you — anywhere across the globe.

Scale effortlessly

With options from 50 Mbps all the way up to 10 Gbps per VLAN, Partner Interconnect can provide the bandwidth that works for you — no more, no less — and can grow with you as your needs change.

Flexible, low-cost VPN

For low-volume data connections, Cloud VPN offers a lower cost option that delivers 1.5–3.0 Gbps over an encrypted public internet connection. Cloud VPN’s flexible routing options allow you to use static or dynamic routing to connect to different VPN gateways.

Ultimate bandwidth

Dedicated Interconnect provides 10 Gbps for each link to GCP. With up to eight connections per interconnect, you have 80 Gbps at your fingertips.

Access internal IPs directly

Your VPC network's internal (RFC 1918) IP addresses are directly accessible from your on-premises network with peering, no NAT device or VPN tunnel required.

What GCP Connection is right for you?

With so many options — each having its own benefits — choosing the best way to connect to Google Cloud can be a bit daunting. Here are some questions to ask at the start of your decision-making process that should help point you in the right direction.

Google Cloud VPN is a great option for your low-volume data connections. It connects your on-premises and GCP Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networks through an IPsec VPN connection. Your data is protected as it travels over the internet, encrypted by one VPN gateway, then decrypted by the other.

Need access to Google and Google Cloud features? If you can satisfy Google’s peering requirements, Direct Peering is a great option. While it doesn’t have an SLA, Direct Peering lets you connect directly to Google and cut your egress fees by up to 67 percent over VPN or public access via the internet.

If you need access to Google and Google Cloud features, but can’t meet our peering requirements, no problem. Carrier Peering lets you get all the benefits peering has to offer by working with a partner.

If you can meet us at one of our PoPs, Dedicated Interconnect provides a 10 GB pipe with guaranteed uptime (99.99% SLAs).

If you can’t meet us at one of our PoPs or don’t need 10 GB, Partner Interconnect offers flexible speeds and uptime that’s also guaranteed by SLAs.
