This document explains Filestore pricing details.
Filestore pricing is based on the following elements:
- Service tier: Whether your instance uses Standard or Premium tier.
- Instance size: The size of your instance. The minimum Standard tier
instance size is 1 terabyte (
TB) and the minimum Premium tier instance size is 2.5
TB. The maximum instance size for either tier is 63.9
- Region: The location where your instance is provisioned.
Pricing depends on the service tier and region where the instance is
provisioned. You are charged for a Filestore instance in 1-second
increments, based on the instance's provisioned capacity in
GB. The table
below shows the price per
GB by hour (3,600 seconds) or by month.
Storage and network usage are calculated in binary gigabytes (GB), where 1GB is 230 bytes. This unit of measurement is also known as a gibibyte (GiB). Similarly, 1TB is 240 bytes, i.e. 1024 GBs.
To see pricing, select a region from the drop-down list above the following table:
Charges are incurred as follows:
- Your project starts incurring charges for a Filestore instance at the time you create the instance.
- You are charged based on the provisioned capacity, not based on the capacity
used. For example, if you create a 1
TBinstance and store 100
GBof data on it, you incur charges for the entire 1
- Your project stops incurring charges for a Filestore instance at the time you delete the instance, rounded up to the nearest second.
There is no charge for ingress to Filestore. There is a charge for egress from Filestore when network traffic leaves the zone of the Filestore instance.
You may be charged for network egress from other Google Cloud services into Filestore, such as from Compute Engine to Filestore.
To calculate the per-hour cost of an instance, multiply the provisioned capacity with the unit price for the instance location.
