Cloud DLP locations

Cloud DLP is available in the following regions and multi-regions. For more information about regions and zones, see Geography and regions.

Location-specific limitations

Note the following limitations of location-specific processing using Cloud DLP:

• Image inspection and redaction, as well as image inspection within the following file types are only supported in the multi-regions and the global region:

  • PDF
  • Microsoft Word (DOCX)
  • Microsoft Excel (XLSX)
  • Microsoft Powerpoint (PPTX)

  If you attempt to inspect images in a region that doesn't support it, Cloud DLP will fall back to scanning images as binary files. As a workaround, you can configure your scan job to skip these files by selecting the appropriate file types when setting up the job. This limitation applies to images within these file types only; location-specific processing of PDF, DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX files is supported.

• The following infoType detectors are not currently available in all regions, but are available globally:

  • LOCATION
  • ORGANIZATION_NAME

• Storage inspection is supported in all regions that support region-specific Google Cloud storage repositories. Not all storage types are available on a region-specific basis. If a storage repository type such as BigQuery is not available for use in a particular region, you can't inspect it using Cloud DLP.

• The content methods (content.inspect, content.deidentify, content.reidentify) are available in all regions.
