Enabling Change

Solutions: Migration, High Performance Computing
Workloads: VM Migration, High-throughput Batch Computing

Google Cloud manages every step of the data pipeline for Nozzle, providing substantial performance and cost improvements. Cloud Tasks helps manage initial processing for customer requests, while BigQuery provides a more secure and high-performance data warehouse for internal and customer use. All of these platform resources are run as microservices on top of Google Kubernetes Engine for additional performance flexibility.

Facing millions of customer queries per month, scalability was a major question that Google Cloud helped solve for Nozzle. Every part of the platform's Google Cloud data pipeline independently scales, and with usage-based pricing this performance and cost flexibility allows Nozzle to maintain agility and better anticipate workload swings. Using Preemptible VMs for batch workloads makes it possible for Nozzle to provide superior keyword ranking data at competitive prices.

With Nozzle expecting further customer growth, the company has also explored future Google Cloud machine learning integrations. Cloud Machine Learning Engine and TensorFlow will help support models for tasks such as entity extraction and sentiment analysis that could help produce higher-quality data for Nozzle and its customers.

"We've benefited heavily from leveraging the broad portfolio of products and services of Google Cloud," says Derek Perkins, Founder & CEO, Nozzle. "Our backend systems all run phenomenally on top of Google Cloud and its intuitive scalability allows us to remain agile, helping ensure that we remain a leading SEO analytics provider for customers."

"Google Cloud drives our analytics and machine learning needs. With BigQuery and Cloud Machine Learning Engine on Google Kubernetes Engine, we have an insights platform that's customized for our performance, IT, and cost requirements."
