Travellers face a dizzying array of options for getting to and from the airport, including trains, buses, taxis, shuttles, limousines and more. Landing in an unfamiliar city and trying to figure out the local transport system can be confusing and stressful. Mozio makes airport travel a breeze by allowing people to easily compare all their options in advance and buy a ticket before they leave home. To do this, it needs access to mapping data that is both reliable and accurate the world over.

Google Maps Platform Results

  • 40 travel companies partner with Mozio to offer airport ground transportation services, including Kayak, Booking.com and TripCase
  • In four years, Mozio built a service that makes it easy for travelers to get to and from thousands of airports worldwide
  • Customers can compare the cost and time it takes to use various options, then buy a ticket before they leave home
  • When they land at a destination, they can breeze through the airport without needing to figure out timetables or how to buy a ticket

3,000+ airports in 160 countries are covered by Mozio’s service

“Google Maps Platform provide the core location data we need to find the best transport options for customers. No one has the quality of data around the world that Google has, which is essential [to] us... We need our mapping data to be precise whether we’re transporting a passenger in Dubai or San Francisco, so for us Google Maps was the obvious choice.”

David Litwak, CEO and Founder, Mozio

Mozio worked with T-Sciences and selected Google Maps and the Google Maps Platform because they provide reliable and accurate location data on a worldwide scale. When a customer visits Mozio’s website, the Places API allows them to quickly enter their start point and destination. The address autocomplete feature also helps reduce user typing errors to ensure that the locations are accurate when customers enter their destinations. The Geocoding API looks up the associated geographic coordinates, such as longitude and latitude, which Mozio uses to query local transportation providers to find the best options available. The Distance Matrix API helps it to calculate the correct fares, and customers can then select and buy their ticket. Mozio is working to combine additional travel data in the future, including walking directions and public transit options for the next leg of a journey. It is also developing mobile apps for Android and iOS.
