Container Registry pricing

This document explains Container Registry pricing details.

Pricing overview

The following charges apply to Container Registry:

Storage and data transfer

Container Registry charges for Cloud Storage storage and outbound data transfer for container images stored in the registry.

For more complete information on storage and network egress costs, see the Cloud Storage pricing page.

Cloud Storage pricing changes took effect October 1, 2022 and April 1, 2023. These changes impact costs for container images stored in Container Registry.

Vulnerability scanning

If the Container Scanning API is enabled in either Artifact Registry or Container Registry, vulnerability scanning is turned on and billed for both products. For information about vulnerability scanning pricing, see the Artifact Analysis documentation.

If you pay in a currency other than USD, the prices listed in your currency on Cloud Platform SKUs apply.

Storage

The first time you push an image to Container Registry, the system creates a Cloud Storage bucket to store all of your images. You are charged for this storage.

The default Cloud Storage class used for most Container Registry storage buckets is called Standard.

Because your location and storage needs might vary, your Cloud Storage bucket's class might also vary. To learn about pricing for other bucket classes, see the Cloud Storage pricing price sheet.

Outbound data transfer

The Cloud Storage data transfer pricing sheet explains how you are charged for traffic from Container Registry.

Inbound data transfer

Inbound data transfer is free.
