This document describes the availability of GPU models by regions and zones.

Before you begin

If you haven't already, set up authentication.
Authentication is
the process by which your identity is verified for access to Google Cloud services and APIs.
To run code or samples from a local development environment, you can authenticate to
Compute Engine as follows.
Select the tab for how you plan to use the samples on this page:
gcloud

Install the Google Cloud CLI, then initialize it by running the following command:
gcloud init
- Set a default region and zone.
REST
To use the REST API samples on this page in a local development environment, you use the credentials you provide to the gcloud CLI.
Install the Google Cloud CLI, then initialize it by running the following command:

Required roles
The following permissions and roles are required if you are viewing GPU regions and zones by using gcloud CLI or REST.
To get the permissions that you need to view GPU regions and zones availability,
ask your administrator to grant you the
Compute Viewer (roles/compute.viewer
) IAM role on the project.

This predefined role contains the permissions required to view GPU regions and zones availability. To see the exact permissions that are required, expand the Required permissions section:
Required permissions
The following permissions are required to view GPU regions and zones availability:

To list GPU regions and zone:
compute.acceleratorTypes.list

To describe a GPU model:
compute.acceleratorTypes.get
You might also be able to get these permissions with custom roles or other predefined roles.
View GPU regions and zones
To review the available regions and zones for GPUs, use one of the following methods:
View using gcloud CLI and REST
To view available GPU regions and zones, you can use gcloud CLI or REST.
gcloud
To view available GPU regions and zones, use the
gcloud compute accelerator-types list
command.
gcloud compute accelerator-types list \ --project=PROJECT_ID
Replace PROJECT_ID
with your Project ID.
The output returns a list of available GPUs organized by zone. You can
then use the
gcloud compute accelerator-types describe
command
to get a description of each GPU model returned.
REST
To view available GPU regions and zones, send a GET
request to the
acceleratorTypes.aggregatedList
method.
GET https://compute.googleapis.com/compute/v1/projects/PROJECT_ID/aggregated/acceleratorTypes
Replace PROJECT_ID
with your Project ID.
The output returns a list of available GPUs and a description of each GPU model, organized by zone.
View using a sortable table
You can search either by location or GPU model, or a combination of both.

For A100 40GB GPUs, the a2-megagpu-16g
machine type is only available in
the following regions and zones:

Local SSD availability by GPU regions and zones
Local SSD disks are available as follows for each GPU type:
- NVIDIA H100 80GB: Local SSD disks are supported in all the available H100 80GB regions and zones.
NVIDIA L4: Local SSD disks are supported in all the available L4 regions and zones.
NVIDIA A100 80GB: Local SSD disks are bundled with the machine series in all available A100 80GB regions and zones.
NVIDIA A100 40GB: Local SSD disks are supported in all the available A100 40GB regions and zones.
NVIDIA T4: Local SSD disks are supported in all the available T4 regions and zones.
NVIDIA V100: Local SSD disks are supported in most of the available V100 regions and zones with the exception of the following:

NVIDIA P100: Local SSD disks are supported in all the available P100 regions and zones.
NVIDIA P4: Local SSD disks are only supported in zones
