Professional Cloud Security Engineer

A Cloud Security Engineer enables organizations to design and implement secure workloads and infrastructure on Google Cloud. Through an understanding of security best practices and industry security requirements, this individual designs, develops, and manages a secure infrastructure leveraging Google security technologies. The Cloud Security Engineer should be proficient in all aspects of cloud Security including identity and access management, defining organizational structure and policies, using Google technologies to provide data protection, configuring network security defenses, collecting and analyzing Google Cloud logs, managing incident responses, and demonstrating an understanding of the application of dynamic regulatory considerations.

Registration for the Professional Cloud Security Engineer beta exam opened on August 30. Registration for the current GA exam is closed during the beta period and will reopen in mid-October. Registrants of the beta exam should review the beta exam guide. If you have already registered to take the current GA version of the exam during the beta period, you will still take the current GA version of the exam.

Beta certification exams are newly developed assessments. We gather performance statistics on the questions and use these statistics to create the certification standards for the final exam.

Beta participants will be notified of their exam results within 6 to 8 weeks. You can pass the current GA exam or the beta exam to become a Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Security Engineer.

Eligibility: You may participate in the beta exam regardless of your certification status. If you are already certified, passing a beta exam counts as recertification and your two-year certification term restarts.
