Editor’s note: August 26th is Women's Equality Day, a day celebrated in the United States to commemorate the 1920 adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which prohibits the states and the federal government from denying the right to vote on the basis of sex.

In 1920, one hundred and two years ago, women of the United States were first granted the right to vote. We acknowledge the ratification of the 19th Amendment as a major milestone in the fight for women’s rights and equality. However, it is important to remember that even though the 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote, not all women had the ability or access to vote. The 1965 Voting Rights Act was another important achievement; however, the fight for equal rights is not over. As we observe and celebrate this milestone, we will be clear-eyed about the work that still has to be done. And we acknowledge the fight goes on, specifically for those not of the majority. And even though this is a day we celebrate in the U.S. we want to take this time to honor all women globally.

Women’s Equality Day is a moment in time when we can recognize the powerful women and movements that have paved the way for us while continuing to work to break barriers for the women of the next generation. Today we celebrate all women, especially the women impacting the world through innovation in technology and business. We asked both internal Googlers and our Google Cloud Innovator Champion community what Women’s Equality Day means to them. The responses were filled with a sense of inspiration while also being centered around a call for action. We are honored to share these videos with you today.
