This page describes the steps you need to take to enable AutoML Tables for your project.

Understand our current known issues

Before starting to work with AutoML Tables, you should understand our current known issues and how to avoid or recover from them.

Create a project and enable AutoML Tables

Before you can use AutoML Tables, you must enable it for your project.

  1. Sign in to your Google Account.

    If you don't already have one, sign up for a new account.

  2. In the GCP Console, on the project selector page, select or create a GCP project.

  3. Make sure that billing is enabled for your Google Cloud Platform project. Learn how to enable billing.

  4. Enable the Cloud AutoML, Storage, and BigQuery APIs.

  5. Create a service account and download your key file.

    For instructions, see Creating a service account.

  6. Set the GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS environment variable to the path to the service account key file that you downloaded when you created the service account:
    export GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS=key-file
    
  7. Grant the AutoML > AutoML Editor role to your service account.
