FAQ

A faucet is an application that dispenses free tokens on a testnet (a blockchain network used for development and testing). These tokens allow you to experiment with the testnet, such as deploying smart contracts or debugging transactions. The Google Cloud faucet provides web3 developers with free tokens for deploying, testing, and optimizing smart contracts on popular testnets like Holesky and Sepolia.

It's important to remember that testnet tokens have no real-world value and cannot be sold or used on the main blockchain network (like Ethereum mainnet).

Choose the testnet you want to work with and enter the wallet address where you want to receive the tokens. The faucet will create a transaction on the chosen network that sends a small amount of testnet tokens to the provided address. If you're curious, you can track the transaction's status using a blockchain explorer or an RPC endpoint for that specific testnet.
To prevent abuse and ensure fair distribution of test tokens, there's a rate limit on the number of drips each Google Account and address can request. The exact limit depends on the chosen network.
The time for tokens to arrive to your wallet depends on how congested the network is. If the transaction seems stuck, feel free to reach out to us on our Discord server.

There are a few reasons why your ENS name might not be resolving:

Not linked to an Ethereum address

The most common reason is that your ENS name hasn't been linked to an Ethereum wallet address. You can check and resolve this using the ENS Domains App. For instructions, refer to the ENS documentation.

Invalid name

In rare cases, there might be an issue with the name itself. You can use the ENS "Check Name" tool to verify its validity. Double check for typos or other errors.

Still having trouble?

If you've tried these steps and your ENS name still isn't resolving, please reach out to us on Discord or by using the Feedback button. To help us diagnose the problem, please provide the following:

  1. Your ENS name
  2. Any error messages you've received

To maintain the integrity of the faucet and prevent automated scripts from abusing it, we have some security measures in place. One of these measures may involve checking to see if the wallet address you provided has a minimum balance of ETH on Ethereum Mainnet.

Our security system takes multiple factors into account. If you weren't asked to verify your balance, it simply means that our system determined that additional checks weren't necessary in your case.

We know incorrect flags can be frustrating, and we're actively working to improve our system and reduce these errors, particularly for newcomers.

If you believe your request was flagged incorrectly, we're here to help! Please reach out to us on Discord or by using the Feedback button, and provide us with the following information:

  1. Your testnet wallet address
  2. Any error messages you've received
